Fellowship Offers

The SPIN New to Practice Fellowships encourage newly qualified GPs and Nurses to commit to quality care and improvements to services within their local communities in North West London. The fellowship provides an excellent opportunity for Fellows to enhance professional skills, influence quality improvement and to become systems leaders within specific fields. SPIN fellowship offers are available across eight boroughs in North West London: Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow and Kensington & Chelsea.

Prospective Fellows can find out more about SPIN fellowship opportunities through their Local Training Hub Leads or by contacting the North West London Project team. All Fellows are encouraged to develop a portfolio proposal with support from their Training Hub Leads.
Prospective Fellows may choose to develop their own SPIN fellowship offer that is aligned to their personal interest, by using their professional connections across Primary Care Networks (PCNs), practices or secondary care providers.

There are also a number of North West London-wide SPIN Fellowship offers open to Prospective Fellows. These exciting offers range from medical education roles at universities to clinical outpatient roles in secondary care.

Primary Care Networks (PCNs)

SPIN New to Practice Fellowship is available to all newly qualified GPs and Nurses who are working within general practice. The Fellowship has been able to offer support with PCN portfolio working as well as the GPs and Nurses to take up substantive roles. They will have the opportunity to understand the field they are working in and become embedded in the PCN.

The Fellowship offer allows for substantive staff to be employed by a practice, across a PCN or cluster of PCNs. The potential Fellows would be released from their practice clinical role for one session per week (pro rata) so they can participate in ‘Learning and Development’ activities relating to the Fellowship. This can include sessions such as mentorship/ supervision sessions, peer support conversations with other Fellows and opportunities to maximise their skills.
