Message from NHSEI on DNACPR policies

ACTION: Ensure you are acting in accordance with the below

We continue to remind everyone about inappropriate and unacceptable applications of DNACPR orders to people with a learning disability and autistic people. Previous communications have been clear that decisions should be made on an individual basis and in consultation with the person themselves and /or their family; blanket policies are “inappropriate whether due to medical condition, disability, or age”.

Temporary MBR closure and safeguarding phone line

ACTION: Please use the mailbox, not the phone line, for safeguarding enquiries so we can respond until further notice

Due to the temporary closure of the Marylebone Road office (MBR), the centralised safeguarding service phone number is down. Please can all staff and GP Practices use the mailbox for safeguarding enquiries so we can respond. The mailbox is nwlccgs.safeguarding@nhs.net and is open 8am-8pm, 7 days a week.

Message from NHSEI re Tiger Eye Protector Product

ACTION: Do not use Tiger Eye in a Covid-19 setting

Over the weekend a CAS (Central Alerting System) alert was sent out regarding the use of the Tiger Eye Protector Product. A test on Tiger Eye protective goggles and frames has shown the product does not meet the current requirement for splash protection required and as a result, this product should not be used in a Covid-19 setting, and is being removed from the supply chain.
