Posters launched telling young people how to access health services
Published on: 16th June 2022
Posters have been designed by Connecting Care for Children (CC4C), part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, to empower young people to take ownership of their healthcare.
As people transition into adulthood, it can be challenging learning and understanding how to access health services. This resource will help introduce those concerned to the healthcare system and help them to navigate their way through it.
The new posters include information on how people can make decisions about their healthcare especially as they turn to milestone ages, 16 and 18. It gives information on how to make a GP appointment and access pharmacy services, amongst other things.
The principles of confidentiality and key tips about what do to in preparation and during an appointment, eg taking notes on key questions and answers, are covered.
You can download the posters from here. We would encourage GP surgeries, pharmacies and other health services to display this resource.
If you have any questions please direct them to CC4C by emailing imperial.cc4c@nhs.net.
