The NHS in North West London is continuing the roll out of the Covid-19 vaccine programme with a new large vaccination centre open at the Novotel hotel London West in Hammersmith. The site has started offering vaccinations from today, Monday 15 March.

The large-scale site is a short walk from Hammersmith tube station, and offers thousands more life-saving vaccinations each week. The launch of the centre comes as the NHS focuses on the latest priority groups who are eligible for the vaccine - people aged 55 and over and people with long term health conditions.

You don’t need to wait to be invited if you are eligible for the vaccine, and can go online or phone to book your appointment at the centre. Visit http://www.nhs.uk/covid-vaccination anytime or call 119 free (7am to 11pm, seven days a week).

The new vaccination centre at the Novotel is run by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, as part of the collaborative effort with Hammersmith and Fulham Council and Accor, the hotel group that manages the Novotel.

Trust chief executive Professor Tim Orchard said:

“The community vaccination programme is being rolled out quickly to protect as many people as possible from serious illness and move us all closer to a more normal way of life. We’re very pleased to play our part in this – now managing two of the centres in north west London. Our staff also continue to work incredibly hard caring for all patients across our hospitals as well as running a major staff vaccination programme.”

Cllr Stephen Cowan, Leader of the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, said:

“I’m really glad our team were able to support the NHS by negotiating the use of the Novotel as a new vaccination centre. Its central Hammersmith location is perfect and the extra capacity it offers means we’re able to get many more people vaccinated and to do so with greater speed.

“This is how we’re turning the tide on Covid-19. The vaccines are the safest way of making sure local people are protected from this dreadful illness and we can get our economy back up to strength and move our lives forward.”

Novotel London West said:

“Novotel London West is delighted to support the NHS and the Hammersmith & Fulham area with their National Vaccination Programme. Hosting the vaccination center in the hotels Exhibition Hall seemed the natural thing to do whilst our core business of providing meeting and event space is on hold. We look forward to welcoming the NHS team to the hotel.”

Whether you have had a vaccine or not, please continue to follow all the guidance to control the virus and save lives – that means staying at home as much as you can, and following the ‘hands, face, space’ guidance when you can’t.
