The NHS is to invest £1.6 million in modernising the Milson Road Health Centre in Hammersmith and Fulham with the aim of providing better access to patients and improved clinical space, and more consulting rooms that will enable two GP practices to move into the Health Centre and provide a greater range of services to local patients and residents. A wide range of community services will also continue to be provided on site. Work has started and is due to be completed in Autumn 2021.
Dr James Cavanagh, Lead GP, Hammersmith and Fulham, North West London CCG, said: “We are really pleased that the future of Milson Road Health Centre with primary care being introduced for the first time with Brook Green Surgery and Sterndale Surgery relocating in Autumn 2021 to greatly improved access, services and facilities for local patients, along with the retention of existing community services.
The new location offers better access to the site and modern new facilities including:
-
- more clinical consultation rooms,
- a larger, more comfortable reception and waiting area, treatment rooms and a training suite.
- new furniture and equipment will also be installed throughout. The practice accommodation will be completely modernised and brought up to date, in line with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.
Works will take place during the week in working hours 8am to 5pm and the majority of the works will be taking place inside the building.
External works will address the roof coverings, decorations, the entrances and some work to windows and noise will be kept to a minimum (due to the nature of the refurbishment) and also because the current health services in the building will continue to see patients
