Engagement period on proposal to create a single NW London CCG closes on Friday - have your say

The engagement period on the proposal to merge the eight NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) in North West London into a single CCG will close at midday on Friday 11 September 2020. The eight CCGs are: Brent, Central London, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and West London.
Over the last six weeks the eight CCGs have been engaging with stakeholders on the proposal, building on the previous engagement that took place last year. CCG GP members are also currently voting on the proposal. If the CCGs and GPs approve the proposal, we will send an application to NHS England and Improvement at the end of September 2020.
Jo Ohlson, Accountable Officer for the North West London CCGs said: “We have had some really positive conversations with our GPs, local councillors, Healthwatch and other stakeholders over the last few weeks and would welcome further views before the engagement period ends on Friday.
“We have heard the importance of hearing and listening to local voices and the need to maintain and strengthen strong local partnerships. We are committed to doing so working through the local borough committee, local CCG and developing primary care networks and integrated care partnerships with local authorities, NHS Trusts and the voluntary sector.
The proposed merger aligns to our NW London Integrated Care System vision, supported by working as a single CCG:
“This common purpose will result in stronger system leadership; greater clarity on roles and accountability and increased use of our collective resources for investment in prevention and spending that improves population health and reduces health inequalities.”“Our vision is to reduce inequalities and achieve health outcomes on a par with the best of global cities. To do this the ICS will focus on improving population health locally and at the level of the ICS. This will require strengthened and integrated borough-based provision across health and social care in order to improve physical and mental health outcomes, increase life expectancy and quality of life and reduce health inequalities across the entire population of NWL.”
