COVID cases on the rise in North West London
 
Sir Patrick Vallance, the government’s Chief Scientific Adviser and Professor Chris Whitty, the Chief Medical Officer addressed the nation earlier this week and told us that there are 6,000 new Covid cases a day in the UK, doubling roughly every seven days. 
 
This includes an increase in the rates of Covid infection in NW London, but at a lower level than other areas of the country. Helping to prevent the spread of the infection is something that everyone needs to play a part in. Help protect yourself, your family and your community and prevent more people getting sick by following the guidance on ‘hands, face, space’. Regularly wash your hands, wear face coverings over your mouth and nose in public places and follow the social distancing rule of six (meet in groups of six or less). If you are experiencing symptoms of Covid-19, isolate immediately. Details on how you can book your test are in this issue.
 
To support patients over the next few weeks and months, we have plans in place to ensure we will continue to treat patients in a safe and effective way whilst separating patients with Covid from those that do not. This covers our care homes, primary, community, mental health and hospital care. Our brilliant NHS doctors and nurses are ready to step up to the challenge if more people get sick from Covid. We thank them for their dedication and professionalism.
