North West London NHS Coronavirus response
Season’s Greetings to all from the North West London Clinical Commissioning Groups. Welcome to the last issue of our newsletter for the year.
Life certainly hasn’t been easy this year and we’ve all had a lot to adapt to, but we are hopeful that things will be brighter in the new year.
It has been a busy couple of weeks in North West London, and with infection rates rising rapidly we are urging local people to stay home and follow new Tier 4 guidance to protect their loved ones and the NHS over the Christmas period a weeks following.
We also began delivering the Covid-19 vaccine to local residents, over the last week the first 8000 vaccination have been given across North West London.
We would like to draw your attention to new ways to access emergency care, as we join the rest of the country in asking that you please contact ‘NHS111 First’ if you have a medical issue that is urgent but not life-threatening, so that they can direct you to get the right care, in the right place, more quickly.
Over the Christmas and New Year period you will still be able to contact your GP and get an appointment as normal so please do call your surgery if you or your family are unwell or you need some advice. There are also pharmacies in London which have been asked to open for longer hours on the Christmas and New Year Bank Holiday’s. You can find out the details of which pharmacies will be open.
There is now financial support available for people that need to self-isolate and can’t work.
Please also don’t forget that your mental health is as equally important as your physical health and we are here to support you should you need it.
Despite the odd circumstances, we hope that you and your families are able to find some joy over the seasonal holidays.
