Coronavirus (COVID-19) update from North West London NHS - 11 December 2020

Published on: 11th December 2020

As you will have seen in the media this week, the first Covid-19 vaccinations have now been administered to patients. The vaccine has met strict standards of safety, quality and effectiveness set out by the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).

At first, the vaccine will be offered to people who are most at risk from coronavirus, before being offered more widely. You will be contacted when it's your turn.

Lockdown restrictions have eased slightly but but for now we must continue to be vigilant. London is now in Tier 2: High alert. We ask that you please help to keep yourselves, your family and the NHS safe by following the national guidance which we have provided in this newsletter.

The NHS is still available to help you and is safe to use should you have any health concerns. We have provided information on the NHS services that can help you should you need us this winter.

Please remember that your mental health is just as important as your physical health - the NHS is asking anyone facing feelings of anxiety and depression to come forward for care. Just talking can really help – and NHS talking therapies are an effective way to address mental health issues.

This week we also bring you some new and important information about North West London becoming an 'integrated care system' (ICS) from April 2021 - bringing together all parts of the NHS and local authorities to focus on improving the health of the local population. There's also an opportunity to meet the chair of the ICS - Doctor Penny Dash and find out her hopes for the future.
