Book into a weekend GP clinic this March
Published on: 4th March 2022
GP clinics will be available across Brent on Saturdays and some Sundays, from this weekend until the end of March, as part of the response to the winter resilience and backlog.
This means residents will be able to readily access services like child immunisations, cervical cytology screening and other conditions requiring GP input.
Patients living with a long-term health condition, including diabetes or a heart condition, and who may not have seen their GP during the pandemic, are especially welcome to attend these weekend clinics. Pharmacists, nurses and healthcare staff will be on hand to help manage your care.
These clinics are all pre-bookable via your local GP practice, who can signpost you to your local weekend clinic.
Local GPs are also working with Brent council colleagues to help Brent residents stay healthy and well, so if you need to lose those extra pounds or understand your diabetes care, please ask for details about these Brent council services.
Healthwatch is independently assessing all of the weekend clinics and will be reporting on their findings in April.
Josefa Baylon, Assistant (Acting) Director for Primary Care (pictured below), said: “Our residents live busy and often challenging lives.
"Our GPs have set up these additional weekend pilot clinics to increase access to GP surgery appointments over the weekend. We know that some patients may not have seen their GP during the pandemic - certainly our child immunisation and cancer screening uptake is lower - so we want to ensure that local residents have access to their GP, to help them to manage their health.”
